I had never heard of a 4 horse power mixer in a 60 quart size. The mixer comes from a school location and was never used. We were the first to turn it on and check it out. These day schools don’t really cook much from scratch. They warm up pre-made food items so equipment like this beautiful mixer was purchased as a stand-by option and never left the warehouse.
The Hobart mixer uses either a very large gear box filled with oil located above the bowl that will eventually leak. To prevent that, they now have gone to the Legacy version using LOTS of circuit boards and power supplies. I have heard a lot of really expensive stories about the Legacy line of mixers and I won’t even sell one.
