Description
Groen products are proudly built by American’s in Jackson, Mississippi and are sold all over the world. Their products have earned their reputation for ease of operation, high performance and long lasting reliability. If you have been associated with the commercial food service industry for more than 10 minutes you already know that when it comes to steam jacketed kettles and tilt skillets – Groen builds the best. The 40 gallon is designed to keep up with the demands of any large kitchen while not taking up (or heating up) valuable floor space.
This high performance kettle would be a perfect choice for any high demand restaurant, institutional kitchen or a large catering operation. Steam jacketed kettles are non-scorching and are perfect for Soup Du Jour, stock, re-fried beans, salsa, Mac N Cheese, craft beer, jams and jellies, fudge, Artisan candies, BBQ sauce etc – I have even sold one to a lip balm producer.
What we know…
Like everything we sell, this beautiful kettle came from a government agency. It was used very little and is in excellent condition. Please take a minute to enlarge the pictures to get a close up view. It operates as you would expect a new kettle to work. The all stainless construction is flawless and has the look of chrome. The jacket water is crystal clear and as you can see, the gauge holds a solid -30 when not in use. There are no unnecessary circuit boards that may pop and smoke, leaving you unable to produce.
Why the S version?
A lot of folks think the the S model is made to be geared for the “height challenged” crowd. While the S version is shorter with a rim height of only 36″, that isn’t why Groen makes the S. The S series is larger in circumference and is the same inside diameter of the 60 gallon. The steam jacket is much larger and the cooking surface is much larger. The result is a more even, more consistent heat doing away with cold spots. It is also a much faster, higher producing kettle saving you wait times and because the heat is more efficient – it uses less power. The low height makes it easier to stir, easier to clean and safer to use.
I provide a large whisk with every kettle I sell with the hope that the new owner will use it. So often, operators use a metal spatula for stirring the kettle and it really gives a beating to the inside of the bowl leaving divots and scratches. The whisk does a better job and is harmless to the kettle and because the inside of the bowl is in perfect condition, we should try and keep it that way.
