What we know…
Like everything we sell, this beautiful kettle came from a government agency. It was used very little and is in excellent condition. Please take a minute to enlarge the pictures to get a close up view. While technically I can’t list it as new, used doesn’t describe it either. It has NOT been reconditioned. This beautiful kettle shown in the pictures is how we received it.
It operates as you would expect a new kettle to work. The kettle comes up to temperature very fast. The all stainless construction is flawless and has the look of chrome. The jacket water is crystal clear and as you can see, the gauge holds a solid -30 when not in use.
Why Vulcan ?
There are a few more differences between Vulcan kettles and all of the rest that should be pointed out. First Vulcan kettles are constructed out of stainless steel and in this case, even the interior frame and that’s a pretty big deal. All of the others will rust out internally over time because of the sheet metal used in the frame.
Vulcan kettles are the most energy efficient kettles you can buy using forced air to create higher heat while using less gas. Also, there is no exposed flame. Using 100,000 btus the kettle heats up quick and the thermostat works perfectly.
Another really nice difference is that the lid stays where you leave it. No need to have a separate vent on top that collects grease and food build-up that needs to be removed and cleaned. When you need to vent just raise the lid about an inch and it will stay there.
Vulcan incorporates a steam catcher on the bottom of the lid so that when you lift the lid, built-up steam doesn’t run down the side of the kettle and all over the floor. There are also gallonage markings embossed into the kettle that will never go away making set-up a snap.
